Hey there, fellow weed lovers! Seth here. Evan Goldberg and I started Houseplant because we wanted to revolutionize the way people enjoy their weed.
When we were young, we dreamed of a future where ashtrays were beautiful and rolling trays were pieces of art. And let me tell you, that future is now, and it’s fucking awesome.
It started with a pottery lesson
A few years back, Seth took a pottery lesson with his wife Lauren and didn’t know what to start off making. He realized he interacts with ashtrays more than any other object throughout a given day. He had a lot of thoughts about what they should consist of: an ample notch to rest what he’s smoking so it’s easy to pick up and put down, a deep well to dispose of ashes, and a secondary saucer or coaster to use as another ashtray or holder. As Seth’s pottery skills morphed and evolved, so did the shape of his ashtrays. The Ashtray 3.0 has taken on a new shape - literally, featuring a wavy shape and still maintaining the key features we love about our original Ashtray by Seth.

The mailbox
How long will my order take?
From our warehouse to your front door, in three stops.
Once you place your order, our warehouse fulfills and ships it out within 3-5 days.
Once fulfilled, the courier – UPS, FedEx, or USPS – picks it up, a shipping notification is sent out, and it begins its journey to you.
Standard ground shipping can take 2-5 business days, whereas expedited shipping is more like 2-3 business days.
Where do you ship?
We ship to residential and business addresses in the 50 United States and Washington, DC. We cannot ship to PO Boxes, nor can we ship to US Territories such as Puerto Rico, Guam, or the Virgin Islands.

Returns
What is your return and refund policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of when they’re delivered. To be returned an item must be unused and unopened, and definitely not ashed in.
Returns, cancellations and exchanges are not accepted on the following:
• Accessories (matches, rolling papers, etc.)
• Products marked Limited Edition
• Anything that is made-to-order
• Three or more of the same item

How long does a refund take?
We’ll get your refund sent out as soon as our warehouse receives your return and verifies the product’s condition. Once we process your return, it can take up to 7-10 business days for the funds to be returned to your account, but depending on your bank it can go much more quickly.
Can I exchange an item instead?
Direct exchanges (e.g. swapping one colorway for another of the same product) are no problem, but if there’s a price difference, we’ll be happy to process a return and let you make your new purchase at your convenience.

Can I change my order after placing it?

Can I cancel an order?
If you placed an order by mistake or want to cancel for any other reason, please let us know as soon as possible at hello@houseplant.com.
Can I change my shipping address?
Drop us a line at hello@houseplant.com and we’ll be happy to update your address if your order hasn’t already shipped.
Shipping and payment
How much is shipping?
Our standard shipping is order value-based, but for some items we offer flat-rate shipping or a mix of both, depending on the items in your cart. Order value-based shipping is automatically calculated based on the size and weight of the item, plus packing materials, handling, and the distance it will travel from our warehouse. Flat-rate shipping is offered as a way to save our customers money when size, weight, or other factors make standard shipping prohibitively expensive, and though we take a slight loss on shipping costs in these circumstances, we’re happy to do it if it means more people will get to experience Houseplant.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, plus Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Do you offer instalments?
Shop Pay installments are available on qualifying orders; the product page will display the option beneath the “Add To Cart” button if a product is eligible for installment payment.
Is my payment information secure?
Of course! Payments are processed by Shopify and the details of your payment information never once touch our servers.
Housegoods
What is Housegoods?
Housegoods is what we call our homeware range: tableware, textiles, ceramics, and other products designed with thoughtful care and intention, just like everything else we make.
How should I care for my Housegoods pieces?
Each Housegood comes with a set of Operating Instructions that include a section on care. For the most part, Housegoods can be cleaned with mild soap, a soft cloth, and warm water, but make sure to check out your individual piece’s Operating Instructions for more information.
Are Housegoods pieces limited?
Some Housegoods, like the Ashtray Set by Seth, represent the core of our design ethos and it would be a shame to not restock them at regular intervals. Some, like the Gloopy Ashtray, sell out quickly, are gone for a while, then eventually come back in a brand new colorway. And others, like the legendary Vinyl Box Sets or the mythical All-In-One Rolling Tray, were made with esteemed collaborators, in limited quantities, and will likely not be reproduced ever again.

Will I still get order updates?
Yes, our email subscription is a completely separate service from our order confirmation emails.
